Live and direct from Philadelphia International Airport. I got a layover here in the Illadelph so I figured it would give me a good opportunity to blog about some things.

After landing from Columbus I was pretty hungry so I fired off the food court in terminal B. I hit up a Chic Fil A and it tasted real good. However, my feast was continuously interrupted by these two 11 or 12 year olds who continued to suck face about every two minutes. Take your childish PDA elsewhere because it sucks and it’s stupid. I wanted so bad to go and dump the bowl of spaghetti they were sharing from Sbarro on the dude’s head because he looked like a doofus.
I’m all the way out in F terminal waiting on my G5 to pick me up and take me back to Charlottesville. One phenomenon that just blows my mind every time I’m at an airport are the people who rock wheelchairs. Now, I’m not talking about those who are actually disabled and need a wheelchair for assistance, I’m talking about the fake wheelchair riders. I swear I see at least one person (usually extremely overweight) every time I’m at an airport rocking a wheelchair from gate to gate but miraculously be able to walk without any issues onto the plane. I just don’t understand. Prime example of America’s laziness. These are the same people who rock the golf carts from gate to gate as well. Pretty ridiculous.
In our e-mail thread Cheff posed this question last night, if given the chance would you bet $100 million on a #1 seed against a #16 seed in the NCAA Tournament? Everyone answered yes. I mean that’s the clear cut answer right? A number one has never lost to a sixteen. So you gotta think that’s a lock and thus making you $100 million richer. Straight cash homie. However, the other side of the bet was if you lost a Russian gets to bust a cap in your dome and your life is over. So, another question was posed, is your life worth $100 million? I thought that was a great point, however, I’m still slapping that bet down and playing the percentages as I don’t think you could ever have such a lock…EVER. But, how nervous would you be if you were watching this game, courtside, with a Russian smelling like vodka, slick backed hair, a leather trench coat, holding a glock to your back the entire game? Example, Murray State jumps out to a 11-3 lead on UCLA or something within the first four minutes. Tell me you’re not pissing yourself. Still, I’m slapping that bet down.
In flight now, cruising the jet stream in a twin prop runt of a plane. There are a total of 9 people on the flight with me. I’m pretty sure I’ve felt every bump in the sky we’ve hit since take off. But, it is what it is. I’m almost back to my crib in Charlottesville where I plan to post this piece and then post up for the rest of the night.
I would like to bring to everyone’s attention an interesting story I read in ESPN The Magazine. “The Story of Prisoner F95488,” is an E:60 piece by Sam Alipour about a rising soccer star from UCSB who moved here from Ghana and lead UCSB to the NCAA title in 2006. Eric Frimpong was a rising soccer star on the cusp of the American Dream. Now he’s a convicted rapist serving time in jail. A lot of people say he shouldn’t be there. After reading the article I believe he shouldn’t be in jail. This is a story everyone should read. I'm not one to take sides with rapists but the actual defense and lack of evidence and straight blatant racism (in my opinion) from the DA and judge is ridiculous. There is no way after reading this article that this kid should be sitting in jail. Outrageous.
Derrick Brown signed a two-year guaranteed contract with the Bobcats. The first year being worth about $483,000 and the second year coming in around $800,000. Congrats D-Breezy. I know I knock you a lot, it's only because I know you got more talent in your finger than most do in their entire bodies. So keep working hard and keep punching on cats. I'm coming down for some games this year so I need the hook up. Shout out to #5. Keep tabs on Derrick by following him out in the Vegas Summer League, he's playing on the Jazz roster since the Bobcats don't actually foot a summer team roster. Fellow rook, Gerald Henderson is hooping with the T-Wolves.
War Ma$e making a comeback.
