Lakers v. Magic????? What?! Yes. That is the matchup in the NBA Finals. This is the Magic's first trip to the Finals since 1995. I believe it was in 1995 when Nick Anderson missed 6 crucial free throws. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think LA matches up very well with Orlando and I think they take this in 5 games. Of course, I thought the Cavs would take it in 6. That didn't happen. In the post previous to this, Sammich hits on all the necessary points. If the Cavs do not go out and get a legit superstar to play with LeBron, he's gone. Z, you're a stiff and you have to go. The Cavs backcourt is way too small. Look at the Magic: Skip to My Lou (6'2"), Hedo Turkoglu (6'10"), and Rashard Lewis(6'10"). This backcourt absolutely torched the Cavs and exploited the matchups to a T. Basically, if the Cavs do not buckle down and do something to legitimately help LeBron not only is 'Bron 'Bron gone but the entire franchise is gone. Now, Mo Williams was a great addition. But I still feel the Cavs missed their opportunity when they failed to sign Michael Redd. So, basically I'll turn to the Indians until the Browns suit it up. Most likely those two teams will let me down again anyways.
UVA baseball did serious work this weekend. In case no one noticed they will be playing in their first ever Super Regional after rolling through their regional. Has anyone noticed the ample amount of UVA pub I've been giving this spring? Well, that's because next to football and basketball UVA is legit at all sports. In other news, Ohio State got ROLLED. Seriously, Florida State tatted them up for 37 runs! Xavier did ok but did not make it out of their regional.
The Spelling Bee is going on right now. Awesome. These kids are ridiculous. First of all, before it's all said and done there is going to be a Danny Almonte-like scandal someday in the Spelling Bee. I mean why are dudes with full beards, flowing hair, bushy mustaches and post puberty voices reciting letters?! I saw a dude with long flowing blond locks a la Bobby Carpenter, a bushy mustache, and goatee on the Bee. How is that allowed? I thought this was an elementary school thing. Just when I thought. Well, apparently there is a 5-year eligibility window. While these kids are incredibly smart they are dweebs. I actually think their parents may be bigger dweebs than the kids themselves. I'm sure there are those parents that are so very proud of their kids but I have this sneaking suspicion that some of these parents are trying to live some sort of dream through their children in the Bee. I just hope there are a few guys excited about being at the Bee because they get to meet Erin Andrews. I would be all over that study guide if it meant I got to sit down and chat with EA.
Speaking of EA, check this out. The former Florida Gator dancer wants to floss her skills on Dancing With the Stars. She is a little upset Kenny Mayne let the ESPN community down and she feels she could provide some legitimacy back by dancing. This could be sweet. I'd tune in.
In news that I really care about Memphis is in trouble. John Calipari is on the verge of forfeiting a SECOND Final Four. I like Cal and I think he's a great coach but my man, forfeiting two Final Fours is not good. Reports claim that Derrick Rose "cheated" on the SAT and that other "major" violations were committed during the 2007-2008 season which would result in vacating M-Town's run to San Antonio. For those of you who don't remember Calipari had to forfeit the 1995-1996 Final Four run while at UMASS. You know, the Marcus Camby years. I was still too young then to understand, but I remember being totally down with Camby and the Minutemen. While Calipari potentially is building a monster at UK he is also about to forfeit a second Final Four. That is not a good track record brother. Let's not be so quick to just point the finger at Cal for committing violations because violations happen everywhere it's just a matter of the severity and teams getting caught. I would just stop giving players money Cal and maybe go after a few guys with some skills with the books and skills with the rock.
Barcelona won the UEFA Champions League. That was nice. I was pulling for Man U. I'll be the first to tell you I'm new to the following soccer so I probably can't provide a legit analysis. But what I do know is Messi is super nice and Cristiano Ronaldo did not have a good day. I do want to make it known that the US plays Cuba next week as they continue to prepare for the World Cup. I'm so pumped for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the US for once will be a legit contender, at least I think. Two jerseys I need to add to my collection, Frankie Hejduk (US Soccer) and Chris Paul (US Redeem Team Practice Jersey).
Josh Cribbs is going to attend mini-camp. YES! Braylon Edwards isn't mad about the trade rumors and ready to ball in '09. YES! Brady Quinn has the lead in the QB competition? YES! Eric Mangini is still stupid. YES!
You know what's wack? Those IQ scores that appear on the side of your browser while you're surfing the net. Like, Brett Favre's IQ is 110, what's yours? TO's IQ is 130, what's yours? Uhhhhh, no, I doubt that, probably not. Don't act like you don't click either. The bad break about it is like you click and never get a straight answer, it's always more clicks. They just toss hella athlete's IQ's up there. When did they take these tests? Who issued them? Was it based on the Wonderlic test? Are they just arbitrarily appointed? The crazy thing is, they show up everywhere now. I'm just really tired of seeing them.
Yo, memo to Carlos Zambrano, take it easy on the inanimate objects. Dude why is it every-time you mess up you're breaking off some anger on some supplies. Did anyone catch this guy's latest act? He got tossed the other night and went ape on some dugout supplies. This guy might be the loosest of all cannons. Why is it every-time something doesn't go his way he's blasting off on someone or something. I've seen him bust a bat over the leg, I've seen him toss dugout stuff, I've seen him explode. Dude, stand down.
Please, Cleveland Cavs, please help this man out. Seriously, for the sake of your city and fans everywhere. Get the man some hlep.
Unwar the WNBA.

Kobe just got Pwned

And I don't even know what "pwned" means.
I frantically texted people before the game to shove all-in on the Knicks tonight because LeBron would try to copy Kobe and go off on the Knicks at the Garden, hoisting up errant threes in the process. I suppose the Knicks did cover by .5 points (107-102 Cavs win-- spread was 5.5), but that is the last time I doubt that asshole LeBron James. Jesus Christ.
52 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds was the final damage done. Yeah, that's more impressive than your shitty 61 points, 3 assists, 0 rebounds stat line, Kobe.
He really does have no regard for human life.
