Certainly Senior Week is Senior Week

I’m not really sure who all reads this if anyone reads it, but I’m feeling a little nostalgic so deal with the first part as I reminisce about the unreal time I had a year ago before graduating from the great Xavier University. I think it’s only right to say where in the hell did those four years go? I’ll tell you this they flew by entirely too fast. Why does it seem like that I should be at Soupies right now? Why do I feel like going to Hudson for some Pong League? Why did I play touch and go and it’s not a big deal last night (I actually did do that Sunday night, Cheff be proud because I'm passing the games on here in C'Ville)? What an unreal four years, a time I like to consider the best four years of my life.

Sure all four years were awesome and every weekend brought some sort of memory no matter how well you may or may not remember. We really did the things and that’s about all you can really say. I would like to specifically focus on a two week period that seemed to fly by at the snap of a finger. Senior year was winding down and the bank accounts were becoming depleted but all we cared about was doing it right and going out with a bang. It all started on a Friday night in late April. The weekend of PigFoam. Friday night The Mayor aka Sundo and KKF and the Biggest and DL hosted what was certainly one of the more memorable parties I ever attended at Xavier. They created a homemade foam party. Absolutely unreal. We donned our jerseys like we always did and proceeded to get loaded while raging in some foam created by nothing more than a Shop-Vac and soap. I have an image ingrained in my mind of Billy minus shirt just enjoying the foam to the max with a can of Cherry Coke. The next day was Pig Roast. Each year Pig Roast seemed to carry more meaning than the last no matter how hard the Norwood Police tried to shut it down. Last year’s was no different and it really was straight cash homie. I can’t quite remember how many kegs in total were purchased, but I think it was around 75-80. Bodies were everywhere, jerseys were rocked, Guy was played, Love in the Club was played every hour on the hour (probably even more than that), heat was tossed, and we really got it going. The entire day was a blast. Remember when Derson yacked in a fellow classmate’s hair and she didn’t even know until someone had to tell her? That was priceless. PigFoam will forever be arguably the best weekend experienced at Xavier in our four year career. I think it’s pretty tough to beat.

Next we have Senior Week. We really got it going this week. I would love to go into detail what we did but it’s just so much to cover. I’m going to do my best with a brief recap. I guess it got kicked off Thursday, a week before graduation as everyone finished their finals. Enorm and I hit up the Sport Management party hosted to Professor Olberding aka Ding-Dong and Dr. Sweeney, thanks for those shots Kristi, that was awesome. Doug, the beers were refreshing. I think it’s safe to say Enorm and I returned and hit up Hudson feeling pretty good. The Booze Cruize was on Saturday and I think we all wanted to officially kick off Senior Week right. Everyone was loaded. Cheff and C. Brett raked a case somehow some way. The late night party at the Mayor’s Mansion was pretty solid as well, it was one of my many nights that Billy battled anyone and everyone in a dance contest. Kings Island was on Sunday. Standard. It rained. We got loaded that night too. This night was actually the night that a number of us went to the Rusty Bucket for dinner.  Deuce and The Biggest then proceeded to write their numbers on their bills and gave them to the waitress.  Later that night The Biggest got a call from a "Northern Kentucky" number that he didn't have in his phone.  He claimed it was the waitress' boyfriend calling to talk shit.  Sure enough this was just another one of The Biggest's pranks.  Good try though Big Boy. Newport was the next night. We shot the rock during the day at the Zumbiel court, home of street legends like J-Mac aka The biggest and King Kong Bundy. Kong, thanks for the hot beats. The Mayor’s Mansion hosted another party before we fired off cabs to Newport. I can’t remember who was in my cab, but our cab driver drove literally 110 all the way to Newport. He really hauled and I thought we were going to die at one point. The highlight would have to either be 1.) Ripping back to back to back to back shots with Ross, Enorm, S, and Derson 2.) Celebrating Click Clack aka Bern-Bomb’s b-day or 3.) Seeing Hanley Ramirez and other Marlins including Dan Uggla own the bar. All three combined made for a ridiculous night.  Ross was more or less assaulted by the man selling roses.  I saw Bern as he entered and he seemed normal.  So, I go, "Yo Bern, let me get you a shot, you're finally 21."  As i battle the crowd to the bar, I turn to see where Bern is and sure enough he had just tossed cookies all over the floor.  A girl proceeded to walk through the yack and then aced herself on the floor.  We tried to tell her not to walk there.  Hanley was rocking some hard core bling but he wouldn't take a pic with us.  Dan Uggla was macking on two very high level girls.  We finally fired off a picture with Alfredo Amezaga.  Black Finn was the next night. What else is there to say, we got loaded and did the things. I believe most people went to Dana’s once Black Finn was over. I believe it was at this point that a few individuals somehow got into the basement of Dana’s and proceeded to rack a bottle of some sort of Vod. I’ll keep those names private. BJ probably won’t be too pleased to find out someone Fired Off his stock. We went paintballing the next day and then hit up the Luau at OSC. Standard. The Hudson girls had a party this night which was fun as usual and then some of us went to Dana’s once again. Thursday was the “close” of Senior Week culminating in Senior Ball. Everyone was loaded for this event, maybe a bit too loaded, but it is what it is. We got dressed up, pre-gamed at the Mayor’s Mansion, and cut a rug at the Ball. It’s safe to say that the Mayor’s Mansion was an unofficial sponsor to Senior Week. The private party following Baccalaureate was a fitting end to an unreal week. The parents and families were in the mix. Graduation was next. To close out a successful four year career, the Mayor’s Mansion hosted to this day one of most fun parties of college. Everyone was there. We got it going and didn’t plan on stopping until we couldn’t party anymore. We did what we did. Certainly Senior Week is Senior Week. Can someone help me? Who won the Senior Week MVP. Did it end up going to Sundo? I believe S was in the mix after his little stunt with a Ford and after playing Frisbee with a golden retriever. When it was all done and over with, I drove my whip back to Columbus on Sunday as I officially moved out from '32 Cleneay.  I made it home with basically nothing in my bank account and it was all worth it.  Here I am a year out of school still trying to live the college dream even though it’s a battle each day. Thanks for the memories. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd we play.

LeBron wins his first MVP Award of his already Hall of Fame career. I thought this was well deserved. Can someone please explain to me how Dwayne Wade was third in voting?! That makes zero sense to me. D. Wade is the Miami Heat and he literally had one hell of a year. As much as I’m happy to see Bron win the MVP I really truly believe Wade got snubbed and got snubbed bad.

The Bulls and Celtics series was unreal. As the NBA Finals approach that means we are hitting a dead period in sports. I’m already counting down the days to football and you better believe that I can’t wait for college hoops to start up again.

In some unfortunate news, Kevin Parrom committed to Arizona. This is certainly a bad break for Coach Mack at Xavier as it would’ve been really nice to get started off on the right foot with a commit from Parrom. But, you can’t deny the fact that Sean is already doing it in Tuscon. He has landed three recruits from the 2009 class in the top 150. That’s a pretty good start for what he’s been dealt with out there. In other news, my main man Moose aka Ryan Reynolds will be taking an administrative job for Sean at Arizona. That’s well deserved Moose, you better dime me up with some fresh AZ gear and at least some white on white CP3 joints as you roll out of Wake.

ESPN is up to their old tricks. Talking about a Brett Favre return and Tim Tebow. Favre, hang it up dude. We’re all sick and tired of your act. It’s stupid. Tebow is a loser and a fake. I’m tired of the media giving that guy all the credit in the world and acting like he is God’s gift to college football.

Do work, make it rain. War rocking a jersey at the pool on Saturday.
