It's in the air

I walked outside today, it was overcast but not to the point I thought rain would ruin my day, just enough to not need the shades. There was a crispy feeling to the air. It was in the upper 50's and for the first time I truly felt like football season was here. With that being said, it's game week. We open up Saturday evening at 6pm against William & Mary and I couldn't be more jacked right now. I will officially begin my game week traditions starting tomorrow running all the way through practice on Sunday evening. Most of them don't go into effect until Friday but I'm staying the course. (In no particular order)

1. T-shirt's/drifit/sweats on Monday's and Friday's
2. Polos and khaki shorts Tuesday through Thursday
3. Make sure I have crucial game supplies on Friday night, most of you should know what I'm talking about
4. Freshest grinds every morning, most importantly a grande of whatever coffee is being served on SAturday from Starbucks (this goes all the way back to the Xavier days, "Do what we do.")
5. Blast the hottest on the way in on SAturday
6. Drifit long sleeve for warm up on Saturday
7. Polo, visor, and fanny pack during game
8. Theme mix during locker room set up on Friday
9. Thursday night football game
10. NFL during work on Sunday
11. *New* Run during lunch

I'm probably forgetting a few, but that's usually how it goes down.

Not only am I jacked for Saturday but Thursday all the way through Monday is going to incredible. Football 24/7. I'll either be on the field partaking or posting watching. Let's go Bucks! Let's go Cavaliers! Let's go Browns! KFR!

Errands In Charlottesville

What I'm about to share are some things I witnessed while running errands this afternoon. What I need to be clear about is that I am only sharing what I saw and I am in no way disrespecting anyone. These are just the facts, all the people and events are real, the videos simply provide an image for everyone and I had no control over any of these things happening. I was simply a witness from my sedan.

1. Girl falling off a bike

2. Black man on Razor Scooter looking highly intoxicated

3. White trash guy almost nailed by a car while on his bike

4. Father and son arguing over a case of Sprite in the grocery store

Part XVI...The Final Installment

For all ya'll that don't know, I got two words for ya...

27 straight days of work, I'm getting blasted tonight.

-'Killa

Part XV

Roethlisberger went down with an achilles injury today. Price you pay for trying to get down with hotel employees dude.

The Little League World Series is going on now. Which reminds me of the days of Danny Almonte and parents trying to live through their children. Is it me or do these parents not try to live every childhood dream they had through their kids? It's not just going down in little league baseball but everywhere you look in youth sports there is always that dad or that mom that takes things way too seriously and will do anything for their kid to gain an edge on the competition. Sometimes this means killing umpires, beating up refs, or punching other parents. Memo to these parents, just because you're still angry at your high school coach for not playing you doesn't mean you have to go Tonya Harding on unsuspecting victims.

Who is the most impressive athlete these days?
LeBron
Usain
Tiger
Pujols
AP aka Adrian Peterson

Camp breaks tomorrow.

-'Killa

Part XIV

Is Usain Bolt the fastest man ever? If he's not then it's going to take someone more ridiculous because Bolt is the fastest man the World has ever seen. He drops a nasty 9.58 in the 100m and then goes 19.19 in the 200m. Not to mention the field in the 200m produced 5 times under 20 seconds. Woah. The craziest thing about Bolt is he's fooling around before, during, and after the race. Dude makes it look so easy it's not even funny. The next step for Bolt would be to drop that 200m time under 19...

Vickcenter, Favrecenter, Stallworthcenter, and now Burresscenter. Turns out that packing heat in your sweats while at a club, shooting yourself, and dropping a false name at the hospital can get you two years in the slammer. His career is done, I am willing to bet we will never see him on the field ever again. Nice job Plexiglass.

Word on the street is Shaq stole his TV show idea from Nash. I don't know what's true and what's not. However, I am willing to bet that this was Nash's original idea for as involved as Nash is in production. Nash is the man. Shaq is the man. I'm sure they're still boys.

Calipari has once again ruined another school's basketball program. In 1996 Calipari's UMASS Minuteman's run to the Final Four was stripped. Now the choke job in the 2008 NCAA Title game has been stripped. But it's not like anyone is going to forget that performance. However, this shouldn't all come down on Cal but their are others who are also responsible. I.E. administrators who accepted Robert Dozier after a ridiculous spike in his SAT score. Florida State rejected the guy before M-Town accepted him. Having spent over 5 years in college athletics, one thing I do know is it's not very hard to pass the NCAA Clearinghouse so it really makes me wonder how dumb some of these guys really are.

Some girl errrrr dude errrrrr girl...well no one really knows is being accused of not being a woman after laying pipe to the competition in the 800m at the world championships. She is going to be gender tested after a significant spike in her personal best and for blowing the competition away. This can go one of two ways. One, the girl has a terrible day after being accused of being a dude. Two, she actually is a dude and labeled as a cheater and a sex-changer. Not two options anyone should ever want to be a part of.

Cliff Lee is doing the same thing CC did last year after being traded from the Indians and that's smoking the competition.

I'm out like a thief in the night. This is real music.

This is how it goes down in Charlottesville all day everyday...

Part XIII

I got three days of camp left and my body has never felt so beaten down. I'm just trying to attack this shit, grind it out, and make it rain.

So many of you may not find this amusing because it could be one of those, "you had to be there" moments but lost it tonight at dinner after viewing the following scenario. Picture if you will a kid with a kid with a dome twice the size of his shoulders, some glasses, tall, lanky, short shorts, cotton T, crew socks, and some Nikes. This kid was sitting at a table by himself straight inhaling some dinner. He was attacking it like a primitive ape. By primitive ape I really mean primitive ape. No joke, dude had a bowl of salad composed of spinach leaves and cheese. He attacked this salad with no fork, just straight hands. He would grab some leaves, mix them up, and then grab some cheese and stuff his face. When he finished with the leaves, he took the bowl and raked the cheese into his face. To cap it off, he chugged his chocolate milk faster than any other chug I have ever seen resulting him in spitting some out. All the while I had to abort eating my dinner because I was laughing so hard.

Favre is playing Friday after only maybe 3 days of practice. What a joke. His act has become such a circus act it's not even funny. I hope he throws 8 pick six's against the Browns. I'm way more excited about the Eagles and Vick than I am about Favre and the Vikings.

Smoltz signed with the Cardinals, I don't really have anything to say other than Albert Pujols is nasty.

Brandon Marshall is popping his mouth off again claiming he has trust issues with the Broncos. Memo to you my man, why don't you stop getting involved in situations in which your name comes up after the word Cops. Maybe then the Broncos can treat you like a legitimate person and then you won't be complaining about the shit you complain about.

I'm tired. I'm about to leave work and collapse onto my bed. Hold it down, represent, and do what we do.

-'Killa

Part XII

I knew this would happen...the second Vickcenter dies down Favrecenter kicks back up in FULLLLLLLL swing. I mean seriously, who really thought Favre was done when he said no to the Vikings? I guess I was the one who looked up to the ceiling only to find gulible written there. Favre is back, skipped camp and shows up to sling the pill. He must really want to stick it to the Pack. I used to be on this dude's bandwagon like none other. He was such a gamer and slang the rock with hella mustard on it. But ever since his retirement saga became the Favrecenter topic of the summer for the past three summers he's really gotten under my skin. Dude, just hang it up, mow your grass, make some Wrangler Jeans commercials, and go away.

Usain Bolt is still smoking cats. Whoosh.

Worthlessburger's suit is getting dropped. I guess he only wrecks on motorcycles and does not sexually assault hotel employees.

Greg Paulus is going to be QB1 up at 'Cuse. I'm really jacked about this. I used to think the guy was a total toolbox until I had the opportunity to talk to him when in DC a few years back. The guy is nice and down to earth. He just likes to play hard. Hell, if you had one more year of athletic eligibility left who wouldn't try pursuing a sport that they were legit at but didn't originally accept a scholly for. Paulus came back home and is going to sling it for the home crowd. If anything it will put people in the seats at the massive Carrier Dome.

Last two a day commences in 6 hours.

I'll let Brady Quinn send me out...NOW I'M DONE.

-'Killa

Part XI

It was another hot one out on the field turf today.

Bow Wow signed with Ca$h Money Millionaire$. I have to give him props and respect since he's from Columbus. To quote my man Walter, "Man...their street cred just took a hit." I don't necessarily agree with this. As long as Birdman and W.F. are there their street credit will always be at the highest level. Lil' Wayne is so far ahead in the rap game it's not even funny.

I read a news article today that stated '90% of U.S. bills carry traces of cocaine.' That's pretty impressive and crazy to think about. I'm not one that carries a lot of straight but when I do I will now know that 90% of the bills in my billfold got dat white gurl on them.

I was scoping some older posts on the blog today from back when it was on fire and I came across this gem of a post. That's a shout out to you CheffBoyRJeff.

-'Killa

Part X

The Roman numeral for ten is so sweet. X. So, I guess X 'gon give it to ya...

For the win...

Tiger lost today. I'll partly blame myself for calling his shot for him yesterday. But, I seriously think Jim Nantz couldn't have been more pumped when Y.E. Yang won because I think Nantz thought he was going to be so smooth with another championship phrase. Only we all saw it coming from a mile away. As soon as Yang made the putt dude goes with Y-E-S, YES HE DID! Real original Jimmy.

Usain Bolt smoked his own record by lacing a 9.58 in Germany. That's real impressive. It's incredible how fast the guy is.

I watched Mike Vick on 60 Minutes tonight. I think the guy has turned a corner and I'm happy to see that. Hopefully he can be successful once again on the field and then transfer that success to off the field.

Only 6 more days of training camp left.

Hurricane season is approaching which I'm kinda pumped about. Not because of the destruction they cause but because Virginia tends to catch some leftover storm action. I love nothing more than storm watching.

One of my favorite jams right now. It's from when the fellas were across the pond. I'm pretty sure it's an IEM recroding. Timmy's guitar is coming in a little strong. Either way. Great jam. Shake Me Like a Monkey.

-'Killa

Part IV

We scrimmaged at Scott Stadium today. The offense looked extra crisp. We made some nice plays resulting in some TDs.

Vick is back in action. I saw some footage of him at his first practice today looking extra nice in that hunter green Eagle's helmet. He was of course rocking the Riddell VSR-4 with the ROPO DW facemask and you know he had the visor on.

Tiger is still winning by two strokes going into the final round. I'm feeling another major and another PGA Tour victory.

The Browns play tonight. This is BQ's year.

-'Killa

Part VIII

Vick is back! Yes! I think he's paid his debt to society and I'm looking forward to seeing if he's still got game. Look at some of the playmakers the Eagles have now: McStab, Westy, McCoy, Desean Jackson, Vick...the list is endless.

Eldrick is laying the wood at the PGA.

Two-a-days suck.

I was told today that I would "fuck up a one car funeral" regarding shooting balls through the jugs. Not my fault. Jugs suck anyways.

-'Killa

Part VII

Memo to all college basketball coaches. If you don't want to be a victim of extortion or accused of sexual assault do not, I repeat, DO NOT have sex with a woman who is not your wife at a restaurant. Is this not what you preach to your players? Like, what ever happened to the "no guns, no sex with women you don't know, and anything after 1am is bad news."

Furthermore, memo to all women trying to extort money from men they banged. Do not claim sexual assault six years after the fact. What ever happened to calling authorities as soon as it happened? Oh wait, maybe you wanted to continue to get a piece so you could try and get some money out of it. In the long run, extortion is illegal and all HE did was make a poor choice in judgement. HE loses a couple of recruits you go to the slammer.

As quickly as Favrecenter disappeared we have entered Vickcenter. I want the guy to sign and I'm probably being hypocritical right now but does ESPN not love jumping on a story and then beating it into the ground? Hopefully Vick signs soon because I'm not sure I can take anymore of (Insert player's last name here)center. Teams that could be in the mix for Vick as of today include New England, Pittsburgh, Philly, Chicago, and Carolina.

Pre-season football is here. I'm pretty pumped up about that. As much as I hate the Steelers, Mike Tomlin is a bad ass. The guy just screams bad ass in everything he does.

Gold shoes.

-'Killa

Part VI

Two-a-day number one is kicking my ass.

Rick Pitino likes to bang at restaurants and then pay for abortions errrrrrrrrr insurance.

Mike Vick could be back in the mix by the end of the week...nice. He was spotted in Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Tony Dungy is close with Lovie Smith...

Tyson Gay and Usain Bolt will be competing against each other this weekend in the World Track Championships. Bolt said that, "Tyson Gay will never beat me." Sorry T, but this statement is true. I mean dude holds the world records in the 100 and 200 meters. Remember the 100 meter final at the Olympics last summer? Bolt was styling his victory by the time he came out of the blocks. No one stood a chance. Bolt was kissing to the crowd, doing soulja boy type dance moves, and profiling while dudes were trying to catch up.

Petey returned to the Majors tonight. Looking nice.

The following video is one of my all time favorite tracks. It reminds me of my days of hooping in the Gus Macker 3on3 tournament. First of all if you never hooped in the Gus Macker then you obviously are not a baller. The Gus Macker is so awesome. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's still going down. I hooped in that thing every summer for at least 6 straight summers as a young buck in Columbus. At the Gus Macker everything went down from cats pulling knives and guns on each other to three point contests to dunk contests. At the Gus Macker I witnessed a dude jump a car to win the dunk contest. I won the Toilet Bowl once which means my squad was the best of the worst. I saw Lil' Bow Wow hoop at the Macker. The Macker was where nasty cross overs originated. It's where refs aka Gus Busters would have to call in for backup for most games. Courts would be surrounded and people had to be held back. You had the choice of taking a one or two point free throw. Generally you would always play against a Slam 'N Jam team. Power 107.5 FM would always DJ the weekend. During the morning up until about 10am you would get some soulful slow jams but as soon as those 10am games tipped off only the hottest beats would bump through Franklin Park. Can't Nobody Hold Me Down was the anthem at least in my opinion.

Rick Reilly

Sucks. No one likes him. Except for old people.

However, in his latest article, Reilly captured a great story.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=reilly_rick&id=4391631&sportCat=mlb

I won't give him credit since all he did was write it, but it is still well written. Needs to be more of this in the bigs.

Part V

I'm still taking more time than necessary to figure out what day it is every time I wake up.

To help the time pass the players have once again created a game to play in the locker room. This time it's life size Monopoly. They actually created large pieces of dice, chance cards, pieces to move, and the actual spots from the Monopoly board.

I was attacked again today by an insect. I hate insects. Hate them. This time it was one of these jumping, spider looking, stupid bugs. Got me when I opened up a closet at work. Completely unnecessary. He got away before I could assassinate his ass.

Word out of the 513 aka da Nati aka Xavier is that the dudes are working hard and ready to go for the season. Xavier landed a kid who is blowing up on the AAU scene, Jay Canty. He's a 6'5" slashing power forward. So that makes him and Jordan Latham two commits for 2010. Unfortunately, Air Spoon committed to Ohio State today, bad break. I still gotta give props to Coach Mack for his first few months. Look for Xavier to slap in the Old Spice Classic over Thanksgiving. Once again the non-conference schedule is stacked unlike Dayton's non-conference schedule. Again, another reason why Xavier dominates the A-10. Let's go for a 4-Peat this year fellas. Dayton sucks.

Got a two-a-day tomorrow.

I got laundry to throw. Catch you on the flip

If you don't get down with CJ then you are not real.

-'Killa

Part IV

In a span of 90 seconds last night I was attacked by a massive spider and a moth. I have arachnophobia so it wasn't going to end well for the spider. He got executed and then the moth must have not been down with the spider execution so he attacked me but it also ended badly for him...death by paper towel. Six feet under to two insects last night.

It was hot again today. I also knew it was going to be a bad day when I spilled my coffee on my way into work.

I got a new computer at work today. Pow pow pow.

Linas Kleiza said he wants to play for Olympiakos over in Greece. Count that as at least two solid NBA players leaving for Europe.

Michael Crabtree, what are you thinking?

You can find me in the club.

-'Killa

Pt. III

I knew it was going to be a brutal day when I rolled out at 8:15 this morning and it was already like 80 degrees out. We hit 98 degrees today and by 98 degrees I mean Fahrenheit and not the group. Meaning that when we were out at practice at 2:30 the field turf felt like 115 degrees. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Tiger capitalized on a 4-stroke swing on the 16th hole to win his 70th PGA event and by doing so became the youngest to achieve such a streak.

Ozzie Guillen vows that his pitchers WILL retaliate for any more hit batsmen this year. This is good because there will probably be some good fights.

My legs are shot.

Peace.

-'Killa

Pt. II

Day two of camp. I sweat my balls off. I ran 5 miles before a 2:30 practice and then rocked the long sleeve drifit and hot jacket at practice. Great way to get a good lather in.

I woke up still wondering what day it was. I think this is my favorite part about being in camp and just grinding. Just rolling everyday and just not knowing what day it is and what really is going on.

My training camp mix is key to my commutes, it fires me up for work and then on the way home it allows me to just vibe it out.

The showers at McCue still can't touch the showers at Cintas.

Boom. Outta here.

-Killa

Step Ya Game Up

Camp opened today and I already feel like I've gone 10 rounds with Iron Mike Tyson. I actually didn't even realize it was a Friday until about 1 today. Once I get rolling on this grind I tend to just wake up and roll, usually not know the day or the time.

The spread offense is legit and I love going 5-wide.

Steroids are stupid. Don't dudes realize that they make your balls shrink?

Cranking out a run and then jumping in a pool is the only way to do it.

Ohio State is going to roll the Big10 this year.

I suddenly got hit with that feeling. The feeling of love for the Cleveland Browns. While the Tribe are busy trading off Cy Young winners and All-Stars and the Cavs are busy being dumb in the offseason the Browns are working hard at camp. I'm well prepared to see them somehow ruin my love for them by about 6 games in. But nothing is better than seeing those orange, brown, and white uniforms. I still think Eric Mangini is pretty dumb.

I'm anxiously waiting for Xavier to start landing some studs now that the July recruiting period is over.

Nike AirMax's are the only way to go. Untied of course.

Those that are hitting up Diamond Lake...please pour one out for me. Someday, I swear I'll make it. But until then...get things going, get loaded, play touch and go, and wear jerseys.

I think this commercial is absolutely hilarious and I laugh everytime I see it. Especially at the :15 second point.

Dayton sucks.
