College football is out of control. Every week someone in the Top 10 has gone down. This past week Ole Miss ranked at #4 went down to South Carolina. Now, personally I did not see how Ole Miss was ranked #4. Snead looked nothing like the QB they claim him to be. Penn State fell at home to Iowa. The U went down, down down, at Virginia Tech. So it's still wide open in the ACC. Anyone could win the ACC including UVA. We're 0-0 in the ACC so I'm still holding out hope that we can run the table and get it going. The only thing that would've made this weekend complete would have been a Notre Dame loss but Purdue was too busy acting like Purdon't to pull out the win. What happened at the end of that game is one of biggest cluster fucks I've ever witnessed. Good job Purdue. I'll tell you this, Houston could be the real deal. At least their coach is. That guy is going to be landing a big time job in the future if he keeps on winning. I think the only thing we know for sure about this college football season is that Florida will most likely repeat and Texas is pretty good.
Speaking of Florida. I don't think I've ever seen cameras follow a player to an ambulance and then follow his exit until Tim Tebow got concussed this weekend in Lexington. Every single thing that over hyped and over glorified guy does is documented and then turned into some sort of dramatic portrayal. Seriously, I felt like I was watching Michael Jackson go to the hospital the way Tim Tebow's concussion was covered. The media needs to get off their knee pads for this guy. I'm sick and tired of hearing about him.
Ohio State smashed Illinois at home in a game I'm sure Woody Hayes was smiling down from the heavens on. In the first half Pryor was 0-2 with 0 passing yards. Pryor did throw some in the second half. However, he still sucks at slinging the rock. He continues to loft the ball and still cannot look off defenders or look for other options in the play. I'm sure over time he's going to become a heck of a QB. But right now he's just not very good at throwing the ball. Ohio State should just use him and use his skills the way they should be used. Right now he's fairly good at running the ball. Maybe move the guy out of the pocket. Bootleg him. He reminds me of a young Troy Smith. Hopefully before he's done he gets a Heisman like Troy Smith. Ohio State's D is pretty impressive and they don't lose anyone this year so next year they should be even better. They have had two shut out's in a row and played USC the best they could (I still blame that loss on play calling).
Another beef I have with college football right now is Boise State being #5. Are you freaking kidding me????!!!! I hate them and their blue field. I hope to God that they do make a BCS bowl and then get blown out like Hawaii did against Georgia. Boise State, I know you beat Oklahoma a few years back but you couldn't hang in a big time conference if you tried. I want you to get out of the WAC and join a conference like the Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, Pac 10 or something and then tell me how good you are. You are garbage and you suck.
The Browns are the worst NFL team I've ever seen since their return in 1999. They don't have a QB. The running game is wack. Josh Cribbs is your best play maker. The defense is bad. Mangini sucks. Note to Bengal fans, just because you beat Pittsburgh does not give you the right to chirp about being back in the AFC North. The Ravens or Pittsburgh will still win the division. Please for once act like realistic fans like myself and recognize your team is bad. Well at least not as bad as the Browns. But I will give the Bengals props for beating Pittsburgh as the Steelers are my most hated team. Mike Tomlin is still a bad ass and he's the only dude I respect from that franchise.
The Blueprint III by Jay-Z is really good. I recommend the album to everyone. I've really been jamming O.A.R. lately. But, you guys all know that I bump Dave Matthews Band all day everyday. In case you haven't notice ESPN teamed up with Dave and the fellas. Songs from Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King are featured throughout ESPN broadcasts of college football games as well as timeless classics from previous albums.
U2 is playing at Scott Stadium Thursday night. The stage looks unreal. Apparently it rotates 360 degrees. I really want to go but I'm currently minus ticket. So if anyone has connections to get me a legit ticket I will gladly pay you with UVA gear.

Wedding, Choke, W's and Rings
Well, my sister got married this past weekend and it was a great time in Columbus. Meanwhile, down in Hattiesburg, MS UVA was really feeling it until they choked away a win. The Wahoos were up by as many as 17 points before letting Southern Miss come back and win. Mistakes in special teams and a genuine lack of effort resulted in a loss. In fact, just an overall softness resulted in a loss. Ohio State was also busy taking care of business up in Cleveland by laying the pipe to Toledo. Pryor is still struggling to throw the ball with some questionable balls, too much air under balls, and always following his first receiver. Pryor needs to learn to go through his reads or at least learn to look off some defenders before lofting his ball into an almost guaranteed interception.
The Browns showed true form by getting waxed in Denver. I still think Brady Quinn has to be the guy and that he is still growing into what a starting QB in the league should be. I think he'll be fine. Jamal Lewis is definitely on the mega decline of his career and I really think James Davis will be the guy of the future. Braylon has been fine so far and is at least catching the ball. Josh Cribbs seems to be the one true play maker right now and the Browns are doing their best to try and get him the rock as much as possible. I still struggle to figure out why the Browns are always bad? Will I ever see a "great" Browns team? That remains to be seen. Until then, I will continue to just be a miserable Cleveland fan.
The U is BACK! They jumped 11 spots in the latest poll! They are back in the top ten for the first time since 2006. Jacory Harris is unreal. He slings the rock with some mustard and can run too. Randy Shannon is really doing the things down there. Could be trouble for UVA when we go down to Landshark Stadium. Miami has a big time match up this weekend against Va Tech in Lane Stadium. This is going to be an early high level game in the ACC with possible title hopes on the line. None the less, my homage to The U is getting closer by the day and hopefully I get the chance to pay visit to the 7th Floor.
A few videos to entertain yourselves while at work, posting, studying the library, or doing whatever you readers do. Does anyone really read this anyways or am I just writing to write?
I can't wait for this film to come out. I'm going to see it and get goosebumps and I'm also going to read the book. Lebron, please stay...(embedding disabled so click on the link)

Yeahhhhhhhhh F-me
Per request of a loyal reader I'm dropping a post. Quite frankly, I've been too tired, busy, and pretty much not in the mood to drop something. But I guess I do have a few things to weigh in on.
This is how you win football games.

Last time I got down on this deal UVA was 0-0 and looking to do the things this year. Well, we're 0-2 now with losses to FCS William and Mary and #15 TCU. Not good people. Not good at all. If you have seen any of the two games you can make your own assumptions about what's going on here. The writing is on the wall. But, the bright side of things is ACC play hasn't started meaning we're still in the mix to win the ACC, roll to Tampa, and potentially roll to the OB. Until then, UVA better wake up and get their act together before we go Detroit Lions or NJIT because I certainly do not want to be a part of any no win season. Everyone knows how much I hate to lose and that I only get W's and Rings. So memo to all UVA people, let's get it going. Cut the BS and strap on a pair and start acting like a D1 program. We roll to Brett Favre U this week. S. Miss couldn't be any hungrier so we really need to man up. Not to mention our mascot got bucked off the horse this week. I'm sure you all saw that.
Ohio State almost blew it against Navy but pulled that one out. Then it was big game time. The same results Buckeye fans have come to expect happened. Close but no cigar. At least it wasn't an all out blow out. But once again Tress opted for 3 points instead of going for it on 4th and goal on the one and letting your 6'6", 240 pound QB waltz in. Tressel, I lvoe you and it pains me to hate on you but buddy, you need to start going for the jugular. Cut the conservative bull shit, let the play maker's make plays, stop showing loyalty to stiffs who are 5th year seniors, and for once just come out with some all out rage and just run the score up on fools.
Xavier is still cleaning house on their 2010 class. I cannot wait for the season this year. We play University of Dumb on Saturday's this year so that's good. I do have one beef. Since when does the Crosstown Shootout go to a Sunday afternoon on ESPNU? Whatever happened to the Thursday night primetime ESPN game?! That's ridiculous. I know Mick Cronin sucks but does he suck that bad? Let's go X!
The Browns looked pretty solid and for once, even though they lost, I didn't feel like a complete idiot for being a Browns fan after the game. Quinn looked pretty good. The running game was decent and the defense got after it. Maybe Mangini is the guy. Browns keep working hard, I have a feeling things are going to turn around for us.
This is how you win football games.
